Last night his little brother Drew was also vomiting so he stayed home sick today. Two sick and tired boys!
Seth had an out patient appointment today which was hard for him. He just feels so weak and tired and as soon as he moves around the nausea hits and he vomits. This morning I gave him a second dose of nausea meds before we left for our appointment because he vomited when he got up to get ready to go. I thought for sure that would be ok but he vomited again in the waiting room at the hospital. His oncologist walked by and said 'Hi Seth how are you?' Seth said 'Good...can I have the garbage can,' then vomited in it. Again with God's timing...he wasn't supposed to see the oncologist today, just a PICC line dressing change and bloodwork. It just so happened, and by that I mean some more divine intervention stepped in, and his oncologist walked by at the moment when Seth got nauseous and vomited. I told Dr. Eid that I had given him his nausea meds not even 2 hours ago (he can only have it once every 8 hours) so he put in an order for something else he could have along with it to stop the nausea.
To God be all the glory and praise! Every 'good timing' makes me smile now, what I would've never really thought of before is now just little moments of 'thank you God for that.'
They also got a bed ready for him to do his dressing change instead of a chair which was nice. The medication they gave him made him a little more drowsy but the appointment was pretty quick and we were out of there and going home again.
Poor guy was so tired he was falling asleep in the recliner when we got home with his toque and glasses still on and when I asked if he wanted them off he said, 'Just leave it.' Then slept for a couple hours barely moving a muscle. He got up later to go to the bathroom and then went to his own room to sleep and has been there since.
I'll check on him later to give him one more medication of the day and see if he's hungry. Then back to sleep he'll go. He should start to perk up again by tomorrow afternoon. His grandma arrived yesterday to visit and came with us to our appointment today. It's nice to show her the things and places I talk about like the 'Family Room' and why we use a wheelchair for our appointments right after chemo, it IS a long walk for him.😬 She also helped me clean out our fridge. Since this all began mid October I've just been adding things to the fridge without going through it so it was nice to have that be fresh again.
God's providence is amazing when you open your eyes to it. There are no coincidences.
