We knew we would be admitted today but weren't sure when so Seth did half a day at school. Worked out perfectly because I got a call around 1pm saying they'd like him to come in. They wanted to do an ECHO, which is an ultrasound of his heart. I'm actually not sure why, but I know one of the chemo drugs he takes can add stress to the heart so I assume they just want to make sure it's in good condition before they begin the 3rd round.
We were admitted early this afternoon, got the ECHO done and Seth is currently on IV to up his fluids and will start chemo around midnight.
Tomorrow his oncologist will be in and doing the rounds so he will chat with us then about the plan for radiation.
Tonight Bryan came to the hospital to hang out with Seth while I took the other 3 kids to a 'Minute to Win it' event at the 'Kids with Cancer Society' house. Played a few games and the kids came home with some prizes! I did register Seth to come as well but as always our plans with him will always be 'subject to change'.
Praying this round goes as smoothly as the last! I am staying here tonight and the plan is for Bryan to stay tomorrow night. We have had 'Helping Hands' set up a meal train for us while we are in the hospital which is such a huge blessing to have the week all booked up with families willing to cook and drop it off for us. Helping Hands for those of you who don't know is a committee in our church to help when families in our church are in need of various things. We are very thankful to have them organize a meal train as we start a new round and have a few days in the hospital.
